Skye Buatava, Director, Center for Work Health and Safety
Topic: Innovation in Research: The past, present and future or WHS research in NSW
In the past, Government-led work health and safety research has been sporadic and regulator focussed. This meant that for the average NSW worker and PCBU, the research had little or no effect on their day to day WHS outcomes.
Since 2017, the Center for Work Health and Safety has redefined the way that Government supported research is commissioned, conducted and implemented. Now at almost 3 years old, the Center has research that is informing, and sometimes transforming, the way WHS is viewed in NSW.
Skye Buatava, the Center's Director, will highlight some of the Center's most exciting projects and give you an insight into where the Center's research direction is headed.
