Event Details

PRESENTATION

Ian Blum, Manager Work Health and Safety Metro North, SafeWork NSW

Topic:        Managing Psychological Risks in the Workplace

Psychosocial safety has a WHS focus due to increasing rates of psychosocial injuries.  To guide and support businesses, SafeWork NSW launched the Code of Practice: Managing psychosocial hazards at work In May 2021.  In 2022, this was followed with changes to the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017 that specifically required the identification and control psychosocial risks in the workplace.

This presentation is on the changes to the regulation and what businesses need to do to comply with legislative provisions and improve psychosocial health.  It will discuss the crossover of traditionally industrial issues and work health and safety compliance and provide case examples to improve psychosocial health in the workplace. It will also discuss some tools available to assist with managing mental health in the workplace.
